I want chord diagrams only in special cases, and would prefer, if a global setting were not available, that the default would be to not show diagrams. There is no global setting for it I would also have preferred to have a setting in Preferences perhaps that was global. Now create new lead sheets with that Manuscript Paper. Do this in a new lead sheet, then save it as a Manuscript paper (either replace the old one, or make it a new one). I think the only way you can do it is to open Engraving Rules > Chord Symbols and tell it chord text only.
